The past few years have seen an increase in hate crimes across the country. This training will discuss what that trend looks like on the national and local levels and review what constitutes a hate crime. We will provide a legal overview of the relevant federal and state laws, and what to do if you experience or witness hate. The training will include hypotheticals and group discussions. Coffee will be provided.
This training will cover the same content as the February 17 Defining Hate training at White Oak Community Recreation Center.
This module is facilitated by representatives of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a nonpartisan nonprofit that launched the Stop Hate Project to support community leaders, law enforcement, and organizations in combating hate.
