CUAH Youth Engagement and Leadership Program (YELP) Kickoff

  • 250 Richard Montgomery Drive Rockville, MD, 20852 United States (map)

On Sunday, June 10th from 6-8 pm in the Richard Montgomery High School cafeteria, we are holding our CUAH Youth Engagement and Leadership Program (YELP) kickoff event. Our goal in YELP is to support students looking to address social justice issues through grants, training, mentorship, and a social change fair in the Spring. We piloted the program by supporting Moco Students for Gun Control with a $2,000 grant for transportation to the March 14th rally and held two organizing and leadership training sessions.
We raised over $10,000 in our first fundraiser and we are very excited to begin supporting our amazing youth and their efforts to create change. The goal of this kickoff event is to create a diverse network of students and adults from across the county who can introduce YELP to their communities and schools.
During our kickoff event, we will be introducing the program, listening and interacting with experienced student leaders, discussing the problems in our schools/communities, and coming up with solutions and project ideas on how to combat/address those issues and problems.
This event will have a pizza dinner included and is open to adults and kids.
Please sign up in advance so we know how much pizza to get:  We hope to see you on the 10th. Make sure to invite your friends!
