Dear CUAH Supporters:
As discussed below, CUAH’s Youth Creating Change program has selected its first class of YCC Fellows and opened its doors to a second round of fellowship applications. A central element of the YCC Fellowship program (for both classes) is training and mentorship. Our first training/mentoring session will take place this Saturday, December 8th at 3 – 5 pm, at Richard Montgomery HS (room 208). That event will focus on project planning, and feature both a presentation on the basics of project planning and small group sessions with mentors who will help the students apply the project planning techniques to their own projects. This will be our first opportunity to mentor our YCC Fellows.
Please join us as a mentor for this event, and recruit others to participate as well. These wonderful YCC Fellows could really use your help, and this is an important way to engage community leaders in CUAH/YCC. If you and/or a friend can participate this Saturday, please let me know by email as soon as you can. There is no obligation to continue mentoring a YCC Fellow after this session, but of course you would be welcome to do so. We are hoping that mentoring relationships develop naturally from this and future YCC training/mentoring sessions that will take place monthly starting in January.
